Culinary Travels kicks off in New York City at the world famous Le Cirque restaurant with a classic dish of salted cod with perfectly poached eggs and winter truffles...there's no holding back on the butter and cheese! Next up is the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok where Varun learns to make one of his personal favourites - Tuna Tatar; there is little cooking as such - it's all in the construction for this one. Travelling further north in Thailand to Chiang Mai, Varun gets a baptism of fire over a hot wok as he is put through his paces to produce the regional speciality of Pad Thai. A tour of the US finds Varun by the outdoor griddle sizzling with chicken, going to great lengths to cook Chilli Crab to perfection and rustling up white sea bass with a twist of gazpacho. Possibly the highlight of the show is when he gets a top notch lesson in pizza making, before heading off to a whiskey tasting lesson at the Brandy Library in New York.
